ISL-SEASON 5-MATCH-89-FC PUNE CITY VS MUMBAI CITY FC
Match 89 of Indian Super League 5, held on Mar 02 ,saw the FC Pune City play against Mumbai City FC.
FC Pune City ended their season with a 2-1 win over Mumbai City FC at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Complex in Pune. This win helped Pune City to leapfrog ATK to take up the sixth spot in the league table, while Mumbai ended their league stage as a third-best team. Mumbai City FC had 51% possession than FC Pune City’s 49%.

In the fifth minute, Bastos played, a through ball to Rafique on the right and the latter fired a shot towards the target, but the keeper pushed it out for a corner. In the eighth minute, Machado swung a brilliant free-kick towards the target, but his shot hit the bar and went out of play. In the 19th minute, Pune took the lead as Robin played a pass to Adil Khan in the box and the latter went for an overhead kick, which went into the back of the net before the keeper reacted. In the 31st minute Issoko made a brilliant run inside the box and unleashed a shot towards the target, but his shot went wide of the target. At the stroke of the half time, a cross towards the far post found the head of Robin Singh and the latter headed it towards the near post, but the keeper saved his shot easily. Finally, Pune went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

As the second half started in the 50th minute Rohit Kumar tried to curl the ball from outside the box, but his shot went wide of the target. In the 59th minute, Deory passed the ball to Bipin inside the box and the latter tried to cut the ball to which Arnold came to end of the ball with a full goal in front of him, but his shot went over the bar. In the 72nd minute, Hume sent a brilliant cross to Adil Khan, which went into the path of Rohit as Adil failed to control the ball. However, Rohit tried to curl the ball into the top right corner, but the keeper saved it brilliantly. In the 75th minute, Hume fired a shot from a distance, but his shot went wide of the far post. In the 84th minute, Pune doubled their lead as Yasir cuts the ball to Hume in the box and the latter’s shot took a deflection off the head of Robin, which went into the back of the net. At the stroke of the end time, Mumbai was awarded a penalty after Sarthak elbowed him and Arnold stepped in to take the spot. In the next minute, Arnold calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net to bag a consolation goal for his team. Finally, Pune ended their campaign with a 2-1 win over Mumbai in their last league match.
