ISL-SEASON 5-MATCH-86-JAMSHEDPUR FC VS BENGALURU FC
Match 86 of Indian Super League 5, held on Feb 27 ,saw the Jamshedpur FC play against Bengaluru FC.
Jamshedpur FC ended their campaign in style with a 5-1 win over Bengaluru FC at JRD Tata Complex in Jamshedpur. Bengaluru started the game with a new line up by giving rest to their regular players and the hosts made use of it and scored four goals in the second half to take the game away from them. Jamshedpur FC had 64% possession than Bengaluru’s 36%.

Jamshedpur FC won the toss and chose their side. Bengaluru gave chance to the youngsters by giving rest to the top players to prove their worth. Both the sides made a cagey start to the game, as they were not able to go into the opponent’s box. However, in the 16th minute, Bengaluru drew the first blood due to lack of communication between the keeper and Augustin. Haokip reached the ball before anyone did and calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net to give his side a 1-0 lead. A couple of minutes Lopez tried his luck from a distance, but his shot went wide of the post. In the 25th minute, Bengaluru was awarded a penalty after Tiri brought down Edmund inside the box and Xisco stepped in to take the spot. Xisco tried to place his shot into the right corner, but the keeper guessed it right and made a good save in the end. In the 37th minute, Soosairaj received the ball from the left and ran towards the box. He found some space before firing his shot towards the goal, but his shot went just wide of the far post. In the stoppage, time the hosts scored an equalizer through Augustin after Jerry played a through ball to Singh, but the latter’s shot was punched away by the keeper. However, the rebound ball fell into the path of Augustin and the latter smashed the ball into the net and helped his team to go into the break on level terms.
Jamshedpur ended their campaign with a bang
As the second half started in the 54th minute the hosts took the lead after Arques played a pass to Soosairaj and the latter curled his shot inside the far post to give his side a 2-1 lead. A couple of minutes later Carlos sent a lovely cross inside the box which found the head of Morgado and the latter headed the ball past the keeper to give his side a 3-1 lead. In the next minute, the hosts scored another goal to take the match away from Bengaluru as Jerry sent a low cross to Morgado and the latter placed his shot into the bottom left corner of the goal. In the 61st minute, the hosts scored another goal through Calvo’s brilliant free-kick to give his side a 4-goal lead. Things got worse for the visitors as Gursimrat was given away the marching orders after picking up his second yellow card of the game. In the 86th minute, Dhanachandra sent a lovely cross across the face of the goal to Morgado and the latter just needed to tap the ball to complete his hat trick, but he missed it completely and the ball went out of play. Finally, Jamshedpur won the game convincingly by 5-1 in their last league match of this season.
