Match 83 of Indian Super League 5, held on Feb 22 ,saw the Atletico De Kolkata play against Mumbai City FC.

Mumbai City FC booked a spot in the semifinal with a clinical 3-0 win over ATK at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. Modou Sougou completed his second hat trick of this season. ATK had 60% possession than Mumbai City’s 40%.

Mumbai headed into the break with a 2-goal advantage

ATK won the toss and chose their side. In the second minute, Edu Garcia fired a shot towards the goal, but the keeper comfortably saved his shot. In the 25th minute, Machado tried to curl the ball from the corner towards the goal, but it was punched out by the keeper. In the next minute Pranjal played, a long ball to Sougou and the latter fired his shot into the bottom right corner past the diving keeper. In the 31st minute, Garcia played an aerial ball into the box from the corner, which found the head of Gerson, but his header went wide of the target. In the 37th minute, Lyngdoh tried his luck from the distance towards the goal, but the keeper saved his shot comfortably. A couple of minutes later Mumbai doubled their lead after Arnold sent a cross to Sougou in the middle and the latter comfortably placed his shot into the back of the net. At the stroke of the half time, Ricky sent a cross to Uche in the box and the latter fired a shot towards the target, but the keeper made a terrific save in the end. Finally, Mumbai headed into the break with a 2-goal lead.

Mumbai seal a spot in the semifinal at the expense of ATK

As the second half started ATK tried to pull one goal back, instead conceded another goal in the 60th minute where Sougou completed his hat trick. Machado played a lovely through ball to Sougou and the latter calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net to complete his hat trick. In the 66th minute, Pritam whipped in a cross to Balwant Singh and the latter fired a shot towards the target, but his shot was pushed away for a corner by the keeper. In the next minute, ATK pulled one goal back after Pritam sent an inch-perfect cross into the box which found the head of Bikey and the latter headed the ball into the net. Mumbai managed to keep the scoreline intact for the reminder of the game and sealed a spot in the semifinal with a 3-0 win over ATK.
