Match 82 of Indian Super League 5, held on Feb 21 ,saw the FC Goa play against Bengaluru FC.

Bengaluru FC defeated FC Goa by 3-0 on courtesy of brilliant second-half performance and remained undefeated at their home. This win also took them back to the summit of the table, while Goa moved to the second spot in the table. FC Goa had 58% possession than Bengaluru’s 42%.

Goalless Half

FC Goa won the toss and chose their side. In the fourth minute, Ahmed Jahouh fired a shot from outside the box towards the target, but his shot hit the post and went out of play. In the 15th minute, Lenny tried his luck from a distance towards the goal, but his shot went wide of the target. In the next minute, Dimas nudged the ball into the path of Xisco and the latter unleashed a shot towards the target, but his shot went straight into the hands of the keeper. In the 42nd minute, Nishu Kumar was given marching orders after picking up his second yellow card of the game when he pushed Jackichand down on the ground. At the stroke of the half time, Xisco played a ball into the box, which found Khabra and the latter managed to flick the ball towards the goal, but the keeper punched it away for a corner. Finally, both the sides entered the break without breaking the deadlock.

Bengaluru FC remain undefeated at their home

As the second half started in the 50th minute, the hosts took the lead on courtesy of Juanan’s thunderbolt strike. Dimas laid the ball to Xisco from a free kick and the latter whipped the ball into the box, which found Juanan, and he blasted the ball into the top corner. In the 55th minute due to Goa’s defensive error, Miku had an opportunity to score a goal as he was one-on-one with the keeper, but the keeper easily saved his shot as it was close to him. A couple of minutes later the hosts doubled their lead after Dimas played a lovely through ball to Udanta who was one-on-one with the keeper and the latter fired his shot towards the goal. In the 67th minute Ferran Corominas, shot towards the goal fell into the path of Brandon and the latter tried to chip it over the keeper, but his shot hit the bar and went out of play. In the 69th minute, the hosts took a 3-0, lead as Miku fired a shot towards the target from outside the box, which went into the top right corner. In the 74th minute, Corominas squared the ball to Boumous who had an empty goal in front of him, but his shot sailed into the stands. Finally, Bengaluru won the game comfortably and moved back to the summit of the table.
