ISL-SEASON 5-MATCH-65-DELHI DYNAMOS FC VS KERALA BLASTERS FC
Match 65 of Indian Super League 5, held on Jan 31 ,saw the Delhi Dynamos FC play against Kerala Blasters FC.
Delhi Dynamos picked up their first home win after they defeated Kerala Blasters by 2-0 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. Delhi picked up back-to-back wins for the first time in this season and moved to the eighth spot, while Kerala extended their winless run to 13 matches. Delhi Dynamos had 56% possession than Kerala Blasters 44%.
Delhi headed into the break with a 1-0 lead
Kerala Blasters FC won the toss and chose their side. Both the sides made a good start to the game by seeing the ball in the initial minutes, but both the sides did not get any good chance to score. In the 15th minute, Chhangte passed, the ball to the new signing Davila and the latter fired a shot from outside the box, but his shot went wide of the target. In the 20th minute, Rana’s long-range Dheeraj Singh saved his shot easily as it lacked enough power. In the 25th minute, Chhangte played a lovely cross to Davila in the middle, but the ball took a touch of latter’s boot and went for a goal kick. In the 29th minute, the hosts took the lead on courtesy of a brilliant set piece from Mihelic. Mihelic sent the ball from the corner to Gianni who was unmarked at the back post and fired a shot towards the target, which went into the net to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. In the 41st minute Chhangte passed, the ball from the left to Tebar and the latter fired a shot towards the goal from outside the box, but his shot just went wide of the right post. Kerala came on to be level terms after Cyril lifted his shot into the box from a free kick and Jhingan had superb chance to put the ball into the net, but Narayan Das made a heroic defending to deny an equalizer for Kerala. Finally, Delhi headed into the break with a 1-0 lead.

As the second half started in the 47th minute Stojanovic’s shot from the free kick found the head of Pesic in the box and the latter headed into the direction of the goal, but the bar came to the rescue for hosts as it hit the bar and went out of play. From then Kerala played brilliantly to find an equalizer, but the Delhi defense made sure that they do not get it with either the goalkeepers being really tested. In the 90th minute, Lalruatthara tried his luck from a distance, but the keeper made a brilliant save to deny a goal. A minute later Lalruatthara brought down Chhangte inside the box and the referee points to the spot, which also gave the former a red card. Mihelic stepped in to take the spot and without doing, any mistake calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner by sending the keeper in the wrong direction. That was enough for the hosts to pick up a superb victory and moved to the eighth spot.
