Pro Kabaddi League – Season 6 – ELIMINATOR 3-UP YODDHA VS DABANG DELHI
Eliminator 3 of Pro Kabaddi League season 6, held on Dec 31, saw the Dabang Delhi play against UP Yoddha.
Yoddha’s raiding masterclass helped them to defeat Dabang Delhi by 45-33 at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi. Prashanth Kumar Rai top scored in the game with 13 raid points ably supported by Rishank with eight raid points. This was Yoddha’s eighth win on a trot and they will battle it out with Gujarat to book a place in the final.
Yoddha battle it out in the first half
Rishank started the proceedings of the game with a successful raid. Prashanth’s super raid in the next minute gave Yoddha an early 5-1 lead. In the second minute, Yoddha inflicted an all-out on Delhi with Rishank’s two-point raid to take a 10-1 lead which was the fastest all-out in this season. In the fifth minute Naveen scored the first touch point for Delhi before a tackle points each from Shrikant, Rishank and Prashanth gave Yoddha a 14-6 lead. Shrikant’s successful raid followed up by a successful tackle on Naveen and Ranjit gave Yoddha an 11-point lead. Shrikant’s two-point raid followed up by a tackle on Ranjit reduced Delhi to two men on the court. In the 14th minute, Yoddha inflicted another all-out on Delhi with Rishank’s two-point raid to take a 25-10 lead. Rai added a point to his tally before Ranjit and Rishank was tackled in the subsequent raids. Yoddha entered the break with a healthy 27-13 lead.
Raiding masterclass helped Yoddha to overcome Delhi
As the second half started both Pawan and Rai, added three raid points to their team’s tally before a super tackle by Yoddha on Naveen gave them a 3115 lead. In the 24th minute, Delhi inflicted an all-out on Yoddha on courtesy of Pawan’s three points in two raids and reduced the deficit to 10 points. Post the all-out Rai’s brilliant five-point raid dented Delhi’s hope and reduced them to three players on the mat. In the 30th minute, Yoddha inflicted their third all-out on Delhi with Rishank’s successful raid to take a 4123 lead. Naveen added points to his team’s tally to reduce the deficit. However, Yoddha kept chipping with some quick points. Naveen completed his super 10 in the last raid of the game, however, Delhi succumbed to a 12-point loss.
