Eliminator 2 of Pro Kabaddi League season 6, held on Dec 30, saw the Bengal Warriors play against Dabang Delhi.

Dabang Delhi picked up their first-ever win in PKL Playoff match after they defeated Bengal Warriors by 39-28 at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi. Naveen Kumar top scored in the game with 11 raid points ably supported by Ranjit who picked up eight raid points.

Bengal entered the break with a 4-point lead

Maninder and Meraj started the proceedings of the game with an empty raid. In the next raid, Maninder completed 200 raid points in this season with a touch on Vishal before Ranjit opened the account for Delhi with a bonus touch. After the initial exchanges, Delhi took a 5-3, lead after Naveen’s successful raid followed up by Joginder’s ankle hold on Maninder Singh. Ramesh’s first super raid of the game gave Bengal a two-point lead. However, Maninder’s two-point raid couple of minutes later reduced Delhi to a single player on the mat. However, Ranjit’s two-point raid followed up by Vishal’s super tackle on Maninder leveled the scores at 12 points each. Surjeet’s block on Meraj reduced Bengal to two players on the mat. In the last minute of the half Bengal inflicted an all-out on Delhi with Ran Singh’s two-point raid to take a 17-12 lead. The half ended with Delhi picking up a point after Ran Singh stepped out of the lobby. Finally, Bengal entered the break with a 17-13 lead.

Naveen’s super 10 took Delhi to Eliminator 3

As the second half started, Maninder and Ranjit picked up the first points of the half. From then both the team’s defence started to get tackle points and made it difficult for the raiders to get points. Naveen’s three points in two raids leveled the scores at 20 points each. Amit’s unsuccessful raid in the do-or-die raid reduced Bengal to a single player on the mat. In the 27th minute, Delhi inflicted an all-out on Bengal with Naveen’s successful raid to take a 24-20 lead. Post the all-out both the offence and defence of Delhi played brilliantly and reduced Bengal to a single player on the mat after Naveen completed his Super 10 with a touch on Baldev. In the 32nd minute, Delhi inflicted another all-out on Bengal with Pahal’s ankle hold on Ran Singh to take a 33-23 lead. Post that Pahal, Joginder and Vishal added a tackle point each followed up by Pawan and Ranjit’s successful raid to give Delhi a 38-28 lead with a minute left in the game. Naveen picked up the final point of the game with a touch on Surjeet that gave Delhi their first win in playoffs and entered the eliminator 3 with that 39-28 win.
