ISL-SEASON 5-MATCH-51-KERALA BLASTERS FC VS FC PUNE CITY
Match 51 of Indian Super League 5, held on Dec 7 ,saw the Kerala Blasters FC play against FC Pune City.
FC picked up their first win at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi when defeated the home team Kerala by 1-0. This was Pune’s second victory in this season and this took them to the eighth spot and Kerala Remained at the seventh spot. Kerala Blasters had 56% possession than Pune’s 44%
Marcelo’s strike helped Pune to take a 1-0 lead at the break
Kerala Blasters won the toss and chose their side. The Visitors got the first chance of the game as Marcelo was through on goal and had only the keeper to beat. Marcelo drilled a low shot through the target, but the keeper made a big save in the end to deny a goal for him. In the next minute Pekuson played, a diagonal ball to Stojanovic at the far post, but the latter placed his shot wide of the post. In the 20th minute, Pune took the lead as Ashique sent a defense-splitting pass to Marcelo and the latter got behind Kerala defenders before firing the shot into the back of the net to give his side a 1-0 lead. In the 30th minute Stojanovic tried, his luck from a distance, but his shot went wide of the target. From then Kerala did not get many chances to score past Pune’s gritty defence as Pune entered the break with a 1-0 lead.

As the second half started, Narzary sent a low cross to Stojanovic and the latter fired his shot straight into the hands of the keeper. In the 71st minute Stankovic pounced on to a clearance from Cyril and fired a shot towards the target before taking a touch, but the keeper parried it away from the goal by diving to his right. After five minutes, Samad tried his luck from the edge of the box and fired his shot towards the target, but Sarthak with his presence of mind cleared the ball from danger. In the added time, Rawat floated a diagonal pass, which found Jhingan at the far post who headed it towards the goal, but the keeper made a good save in the end. In the next minute, Zakir sent a through ball to Vineeth in the box and the latter fired his shot towards the near post, but his shot went wide of the post. Finally, Pune held Kerala by 1-0 and moved to the eighth spot in the league table.
