ISL-SEASON 5-MATCH-47- DELHI DYNAMOS FC VS MUMBAI CITY FC
Match 47 of Indian Super League 5, held on Dec 3 ,saw the Delhi Dynamos FC play against Mumbai City FC.
A superb second-half performance gave Mumbai a 4-2 win over Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. Delhi once again slumped to the defeat after taking the lead and are still winless in this season, on the other hand, Mumbai City moved to the fourth spot in the league table. Delhi Dynamos had 53% possession than Mumbai’s 47%,
Delhi entered the break with a 1-0 lead
Delhi Dynamos FC won the toss and chose their side. The hosts started the game on a good note as they took the lead in the third minute through Chhangte. Tebar from outside the box sent a superb pass to Chhangte and the latter tried to find someone inside the box, but to his fortune, it went off Souvik’s foot and into the back of the net past the keeper, which gave the hosts an early 1-0, lead. In the sixth minute Nandhakumar tried, his luck from a distance towards the goal, but his shot was blocked away and cleared from the danger area in the end. In the 22nd minute, Chhangte sent a pinpoint cross to Nandhakumar in the box, but the latter skied his shot into the stands without testing the keeper. In the same minute Bastos received the ball just outside the box from Machado and fired a shot towards the goal, but his shot went straight into the hands of the keeper. In the 36th minute, Sehnaj played a high ball to Arnold and the latter managed to skip a couple of defenders before firing a shot towards the goal, but his shot went wide of the post. That proved to be the last chance of the half and Delhi entered the break with a 1-0 lead.
Mumbai stormed into top four with a superb win
As the second half started in the 47th minute Bastos sent a superb pass to Sougou in the box and the latter fired a shot towards the target, but the keeper saved his shot by diving to his left. In the next minute, Mumbai won, a penalty after Pritam Kotal handled the ball inside the box and Bastos stepped in to take the spot. Bastos slotted the ball into the back of the net and brought his team back on level terms. In the 61st minute, Mumbai took the lead after Bastos tried to send a cross inside the box, but it hits the head of Crespi and went into the back of the net beating the keeper. A couple of minutes later the hosts scored an equalizer as Mihelic’s free-kick found Zuiverloon in the box and the latter jumped and headed it into the net. After five minutes, Mumbai took the lead through substitute Fernandes as Machado sent a good cross to Fernandes who without doing any mistake calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner to give his side a 3-2 lead. While Delhi pressed hard to find an equalizer, on the other hand, Mumbai scored another goal in the 80th minute to half their hopes of winning the game. Arnold sent a delightful cross which found Machado and the latter tapped it into the back of the net. In the 85th minute Chhangte, played Kaludjerovic in the box and the latter fired a shot towards the target, which beat the keeper, but Subhasish headed it away from the danger with a superb goal-line clearance. In the added time, Rene Mihelic swung the corner to Kaludjerovic and the latter fired a shot towards the target, but Arminder made a fingertip save in the end to deny a goal for them. Finally, Mumbai won their first game in Delhi in the history of ISL by 4-2 and moved to the top spot in the league table.
