Match 40 of Indian Super League 5, held on Nov 26 ,saw the Bengaluru FC  play against Delhi Dynamos FC.

Udanta’s late goal helped Bengaluru FC to defeat Delhi Dynamos at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium by 1-0 in Bengaluru. This win took Bengaluru to top of the table and extended their unbeaten run in ISL to 15 matches. Bengaluru FC had 51% possession than Delhi Dynamo’s 47%.

Goalless half

Bengaluru FC won the toss and chose their side. In the ninth minute, the hosts got the first chance after Xisco played a delightful ball to Chhetri who was through on goal and the latter took a touch before firing it towards the goal, but the keeper came off his line to clear the ball from danger. In the 13th minute, Gianni sent a through ball to Chhangte, but the latter’s shot went wide of the post. In the 20th minute, Carmona’s shot found Crespi in the middle, but the keeper easily saved his header. In the 27th minute Nandhakumar pressed forward and sent a pass to Kaludjerovic on the right, but the latter could not keep his shot on target and squandered a big chance. In the 31st minute, Carmona sent a lovely through ball to Chhangte who was one-on-one with the keeper, but the keeper easily saved his shot, as it was so close to him. At the stroke of the half-time Tebar puts Nandhakumar through on the right and the latter fired a shot towards the target, but the keeper made himself to deny them a goal. In the end, both the sides entered the break without breaking the deadlock.

Udanta’s late strike gave Bengaluru three points from the tie

As the second half started, Udanta cuts the ball to Chhetri on the right and the latter fired a shot towards the target, but his shot went wide of the far post. In the 53rd minute Chhangte played a ball to Kaludjerovic in the box and tried to cut the ball back, but it took a deflection and fell into the path of Carmona. However, the keeper easily saved his shot as it lacked enough power. In the 70th minute, Udanta chipped in a ball to Xisco in the box who had only the keeper to beat, but his shot was easily saved by the keeper, as it was so close to him. In the 87th minute, Bengaluru took the lead through Udanta’s stunning goal. He took a touch after the ball came towards him and drilled a low shot towards the far post, which found the back of the net and gave the hosts a 1-0 lead. Finally, Bengaluru clinched a victory in Chhetri’s 150th appearance with a 1-0 scoreline.
