Mumbai City FC won the toss and chose their side. As soon as the game started, Lanzarote tried his luck form a free kick from around 30 yards, but his shot was easily collected by the keeper as it lacked enough power. In the 14th minute Everton got on the right and cuts back to Komal in the middle but the latter miscued his shot by rushing. In the 20th minute Gerson sent a lovely pass to Lanzarote in the box and fired a shot towards the goal, but his shot failed to beat the keeper, as it was straight at him. In the 37th minute, Anwar Ali swung his corner towards the near post which found Subhasish Bose, but the latter’s header went over the crossbar. Both the sides entered the break without breaking the deadlock.
As the second half started in the 49th minute, Arnold chipped in a cross in the box towards Bastos who headed it into the path of Machado. The latter smashed his shot towards the goal, but Gerson blocked Machado’s shot through his body. A couple of minutes later Bastos won the ball on the left and cuts in before firing the shot towards the target, but his shot went high and wide of the post. In the 64th minute, Lanzarote sent a delightful ball from the free kick, which found Gerson in the box, but his header went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute Lanzarote’s free-kick found the head of Balwant in the box and fired a shot towards the goal, but the keeper saved his shot as it lacked enough power. A couple of minutes later Subhasish tried his luck from a distance with a clean strike, but the keeper managed a fingertip save in the end to deny a goal for the hosts. Both the sides tried to score a winner but lacked their final third pass correct. In the end, both the sides settled for a goalless draw.
