ISL-SEASON 5-MATCH-26-FC PUNE CITY VS KERALA BLASTERS FC
Match 26 of Indian Super League 5, held on Nov 2 ,saw the Kerala Blasters FC play against FC Pune City.
Kerala Blasters and FC Pune City played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Complex Stadium in Pune. Kerala Blasters had 61% possession than FC Pune City’s 39%.
Stankovic’s goal gave the hosts lead at the break
Kerala Blasters FC won the toss and chose their side. As soon as the game started Vineeth got the ball on the right and fired a shot towards the goal, but the keeper saved his shot as it lacked enough power. In the 10th minute Samad passed, the ball to Vineeth and the latter fired a shot, but the keeper saved it easily as it was straight to him. In the 13th minute against the run of play, Pune took the lead as Stankovic got to an end of a clearance and fired a shot towards the goal from 25 yards out of the box, which found the back of the net beating the keeper. In the 26th minute, Kali sent a cross to Krcmarevic who then headed it towards the bottom left corner which beat the keeper, but his shot just went wide of the target. In the 36th minute, Stojanovic’s shot from the corner found the head of Pesic at the far post who headed it towards the target, but it was saved by the keeper as the header was straight to him. In the 40th minute, Kamaljit made a terrific save of Poplatnik long-range shot. At the stroke of half-time Stojanovic sent the ball from the corner, which deflected off Pesic’s body and went towards the far post where Krcmarevic tried to tap the ball into the net and started celebrating. However, the official and Linesman after a huge discussion disallow the goal. Finally, Pune headed into the break with a one-goal advantage.
Both the teams shared the spoils
As the second, half-started Alfaro’s pass found Marcelo on the left and the latter fired a shot towards the near post, but Naveen saved his shot with ease. In the 56th minute, Pune was awarded a penalty after Krcmarevic brought down Alfaro inside the box. Alfaro stepped up and tried to smash the ball into the top right corner, but his shot hit the post and went out of play. In the 61st minute, Kerala equalized as Gurtej’s clearance of a corner found Krcmarevic and the latter blasted his shot past the keeper. In the 85th minute, Marcelo fired a shot from outside the box towards the goal, but Naveen saved his shot by diving towards his left. At the stroke of the end time, Stojanovic headed the ball towards the target from the far post, but his header hit the side netting and went out of the play. Finally, both the teams settled for a draw and shared the spoils between them.
