Match 25 of Indian Super League 5, held on Nov 1 ,saw the Jamshedpur FC play against FC Goa.

Jamshedpur FC secured their first victory over Jamshedpur FC by 4-1 at JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur. FC Goa had 52% possession than Jamshedpur’s 48%.

Both teams on level terms at the break

Jamshedpur FC won the toss and chose their side. As soon as the game started, Arques got the ball and floated a diagonal to Mukhi. Mukhi took a touch and fired a shot towards the target, but the diving keeper saved his shot. In the 17th minute, Jamshedpur took the lead as Cidoncha sent the ball from the corner to the far post, which found Memo who squared it back to Pratik. Pratik then played a backheel to Soosairaj on the left and the latter slotted the ball past the keeper with ease. In the 27th minute, Ahmed played a lovely long ball to Fernandez on the right and the latter fired a shot. However, Pratik superbly intercepted it. However, Pratik’s clearance found Boumous outside the box and fired a shot, but his shot went wide of the post. In the 33rd minute, Goa scored an equalizer through Mourtada Fall. Edu Bedia sent a pass to fall from a free kick and the latter headed it past the keeper. In the 39th minute, Lenny played a backheel ball on the right, which found Mukhi on rebound, and the latter tried his luck from distance instead of passing, but his shot went wide of the target. In the 43rd minute, Jackichand’s shot was easily saved by Subrata Paul. Both the side went into the break on level terms.

Jamshedpur secures their first win over Goa

As the second half started in the 50th minute, Jamshedpur regained their lead through Soosairaj stunning strike. Cidoncha played a through ball on the left to Soosairaj and the latter toe-poked the ball past the keeper to give his team a 2-1 lead. In the 58th minute, Tiri headed the ball from the corner to Sumeet Passi who then headed it towards the goal by getting low, but the keeper made a phenomenal save in the end. In the 67th minute, Calvo’s shot from the corner found Cidoncha at the near post. The latter headed his shot towards the target, but the keeper once again made a superb save. In the 77th minute Memo pounced on to an attempted clearance from the Goa back line and smashed, his shot towards the top left corner and doubled the lead for his side. In the next minute, the hosts scored another goal as Cidoncha sent the ball to Carlos Calvo on the right who then squared it to Sumeet. Sumeet tapped the ball into the net and sealed the tie for his side. At the stroke of the end time. The official disallowed Tim Cahill’s goal as it was offside. Finally, Jamshedpur secured their first win over Goa in the ISL with a comprehensive victory.
