Match 24 of Indian Super League 5, held on Oct 31 ,saw the Bengaluru FC play against Atletico De Kolkata.

Bengaluru claimed all-important three points with a win over ATK by 2-1 at Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. Miku and Paartalu who scored a goal on either side of the half canceled out Komal’s strike in the first half. Bengaluru FC had 59% possession than ATK’s 41%.

Miku’s wonder strike restores the parity

Atletico De Kolkata won the toss and chose their side. In the initial first 10 minutes, as the majority of the action took place in the midfield. In the 11th minute Chhetri’s free-kick hit the post and on the rebound, his shot went high and wide of the post. In the 15th minute, the hosts took the lead on courtesy of Komal, which was his maiden Hero ISL goal. Everton sent a through ball past Bengaluru defense to Komal and the latter slotted the ball past the keeper to give his team a 1-0 lead. In the 21st minute, Nishu Kumar sent a superb cross where Miku leaped high and headed it towards the target, but the keeper saved his shot as his shot was straight at the keeper. Kalu Uche was taken off the field due to some injury and Bengaluru made use of this and equalized the score in the added time through Miku.  Miku and Dimas played one-touch between them before the former curled the ball into the top corner, which beat the keeper. Finally, both the sides went into the break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Bengaluru registers their 3rd victory

As the second half started, Bengaluru FC took the lead on courtesy of Paartalu’s thunderbolt strike. Albert Serra’s failed Bicycle kick fell into the path of Paartalu who smashed the ball, which found the back of the net. In the 56th minute Komal got to an end of a free kick and fired a shot, but his volley just went wide of the post. Both the teams then played the ball in the midfield without creating many chances. In the 69th minute, Lanzarote chipped in a cross to Santos in the middle and the latter fired a shot towards the goal with enough venom, but Gurpreet brilliantly saved his shot. In the 81st minute, Lanzarote’s shot from the corner found Vieira at the near post who headed it towards the target which beat the keeper, but it hit the post and went off the play. In the injury time, Xisco drilled a low shot towards the near post, but his shot went wide of the post. Finally Bengaluru’s splendid comeback after being one goal down to win the game and took all three points.
