Match 23 of Indian Super League 5, held on Oct 30 ,saw the Delhi Dynamos FC play against North East United FC.

North East defeated Delhi Dynamos by 2-0 on courtesy of late goals by Gallego and Ogbeche at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. North East had 51% possession than Delhi Dynamos’ 49%.

Goalless half

North East United FC won the toss and chose their side. As soon as the game started both the sides created chances to get their name on the score sheet. In the sixth minute Pawan, clearance found Zuiverloon at the edge of the box, but the keeper collected his shot safely. In the same minute Tlang squared the ball to Ogbeche outside the box and fired a shot towards the target, which beat the keeper, but his shot went over the crossbar. In the 28th minute Ogbeche got past Crespi on the right and drilled a low cross across the face of the goal, but the keeper dived and punched it away from the danger. At the stroke of the halftime, Gallego’s shot from the corner found Mascia who squared it to Mato Grgic at the near post, but his header was punched away by the keeper to maintain the deadlock. Both the sides entered the break without the deadlock being broken.

North East moves to the summit of the league

As the second half started in the 55th minute Crespi received a ball 30 yards from the post and smashed it away towards the target, but his shot sailed into the stands. In the 62nd minute Gallego won the ball outside the box and drilled a low shot towards the goal, but the keeper saved it with ease. In the 66th minute, Zuiverloon’s shot from the free kick found Kaludjerovic who jumped and unleashed a shot toward the goal, but his shot went into the crowd. In the 82nd minute, Northeast took the lead Gallego went past a defender and fired a low shot towards the near post, which found the back of the net. In the added time, Northeast doubled their lead through their captain Ogbeche. Gallego won the ball from Pritam and sent a timely pass to Ogbeche who was one-on-one with the keeper and slotted the ball into the net with a powerful strike. Finally, North East won the game by 2-0 and moved to the top spot in the league.
