Pro Kabaddi League – Season 6 – MATCH-36-PATNA PIRATES VS U MUMBA

Match 36 of Pro Kabaddi League season 6, held on Oct 27, saw the Patna Pirates play against U Mumba.

U Mumba prevailed over Patna Pirates by 40-39 in a closely fought encounter at Patliputra Complex in Patna. Siddharth Desai top-scored for U Mumba with 14 raid points ably supported by Fazel who took six tackle points.

Both teams were deadlocked at 14 points each at the break

Siddharth Desai started the proceedings of the game with a successful raid, on the other hand, Pardeep scored the first point for Patna with a successful raid. Siddharth and Pardeep kept the scorecard ticking for their respective sides and were leveled at four points each in the fourth minute. Jaideep’s ankle hold on Siddharth in the next raid helped Patna to keep him out of the mat for a long time in the game. U Mumba raced to 10-7 lead in the 10th minute on courtesy of two super tackles. However, U Mumba was not able to get their players back as Patna defenders made difficult for their raiders to take a touch point. In the 18th minute, Patna inflicted an all-out on U Mumba with Jaideep’s tackle on Vinod and took team’s lead to 14-12. Siddharth finished the half with a touch point and both teams went into the break deadlocked at 14 points each.

U Mumba secures a thrilling win

As the second half started, U Mumba picked two straight points and took the lead. However, Patna leveled the scores with a superb tackle on Siddharth and that opened the floodgates for the visitors. Pardeep further increased their lead with a two-point raid. In the 25th minute, Patna inflicted another all-out on U Mumba with Pardeep’s two-point raid and took team’s lead to 25-18. Once after U Mumba returned to the mat Siddharth and Rohit started picking points in all raids, forged a comeback, and reduced the deficit to just three points. Fazel then tackled Pardeep of the mat, which stopped Patna from scoring easy points, on his absence Vikas went for the raids and kept their lead to four points. Siddharth and Rohit together leveled the scores at 38 points each with two minutes left in the game. In the last minute of the game, Siddharth’s touch on Jaideep followed up by Fazel, tackled Vikas gave them a two-point lead with a raid left in the game. Atrachali then surrendered himself to Vijay to avoid a big raid and defeated the defending champions by mere a point in an entertaining encounter.
