Match 30 of Pro Kabaddi League season 6, held on Oct 23, saw the Tamil Thalaivas play against Puneri Paltan.

Tamil Thalaivas final won a game after five successive defeats in this season after they defeated Paltan by 36-31 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Complex in Pune. Thakur once again led his team from the front with 12 raid points.

Thalaivas hold an edge over hosts at the break

Jasvir Singh started the proceedings of the game with a successful raid. Paltan picked up their first point of the night with a superb tackle on Jasvir by Ravi Kumar. Both the teams started to exchange point on regular intervals and played cautiously without committing any silly errors. In the fifth minute of the game, Ajay reached a milestone, as he became the third player in PL to reach 600 raid points with a toe touch on Ernak. Thalaivas increased their lead to two points with Sukesh’s two-point raid in the 10th minute. In the next minute, Paltan was reduced to two players on the court with Ajay’s successful raid. However, More’s bonus touch followed up by a super tackle on Ajay brought down the deficit to just one point. In the 15th minute, Thalaivas inflicted an all-out on the hosts after Manjeet’s tackle on More and took the lead to 15-11. Paltan fought back with 4 points after returning to the mat and went into the break with one point deficit.

Thalaivas finally ended their losing streak

As the second half started More leveled the scores at 16 points each with a bonus touch. Thakur got a touch on Ernak and Rink to increase his team lead to two points. With some good play in both offense and defence Thalaivas, reduced Paltan once gain to two players on the court. Thalaivas inflicted another all-out on Paltan in the 31st minute with Jasvir’s two-point raid and took the lead to nine points. More’s two-point raid was canceled out by Ajay’s two-point raid in the 32nd minute and Thalaivas maintained a firm lead over the hosts. However, the hosts fought back through More and Monu’s bonus touch and reduced the deficit to three points with two minutes left in the game. Thalaivas sent Jasvir into the raid to run down the clock, but Paltan players held a high line to deny him a chance of making an official raid. However, with his experience, Jasvir forced the host’s defenders to attempt a tackle on him, which got him two touch points in the process. Amit Hooda ended the game with two solo tackles on Nitin and Monu and they ran down the clock. Thalaivas finally ended Paltan’s winning streak of three games at home.
