Match 9 of Indian Super League 5, held on Oct 7 ,saw the Bengaluru FC play against Jamshedpur FC.

Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC played out a thrilling draw at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru by 2-2. Jamshedpur had 56% possession than Bengaluru’s 44%.

Nishu’s stunner gave Bengaluru lead at the break

Bengaluru FC won the toss and chose their side. As soon as the game started both the sides in the initial 10 minutes played the ball in the midfield. In the 13th minute Miku passed, the ball to Udanta through on goal, but Tiri blocked his shot when he tried to square it to Sunil. A couple of minutes later Rahul played a cushioned ball to Xisco outside the box and he took a touch and fired it. However, the keeper collected his shot on the bounce. Sunil floated the ball from the right to Xisco who then unleashed a shot towards the target, but his shot went just wide of the post. At the stroke of the halftime, the hosts took the lead on courtesy of Nish Kumar’s stunning strike. Xisco’s lofted ball was blocked by Tiri and fell into the path of Nishu Kumar. He then took a touch and smashed the ball into the top left corner past the diving keeper. Finally, the hosts entered the break with a 1-0 lead.

Both the teams picked up a point from the game

As the second half started in the 53rd minute Udanta sent a cross towards the box was cleared by Serran on to the path of Sunil. He then tried to curl the ball into the far corner, but his shot went wide of the post. After 5 minutes, Rahman got the ball on his left and fired the shot from around 20 yards into the top corner, but Gurpreet made a good save in the end to deny an equalizer. In the 81st minute, Jamshedpur scored an equalizer with the help of Gourav who became the youngest player in ISL to score a goal. Arques sent a delightful ball from the center to Gourav through on goal, who then fired his shot into the bottom corner to give his team an all-important equalizer. At the stroke of the end time, Chhetri gave his team lead with a superb header. Khabra played an inch-perfect ball inside the box where Chhetri got better of the defenders to head the ball into the bottom corner. In the injury time, Miku played a through ball to Chhetri and he was on one on one with the keeper. He tried to slot the ball into the corner, but his shot went over the crossbar. A couple of minutes later Jamshedpur scored an equalizer yet again. Arques from the right squared the ball to Sergio inside the box who was unmarked. He then slotted the ball into the back of the net and both the teams shared the spoils from the game after an entertaining encounter.
