Match 4 of Indian Super League 5, held on Oct 2 ,saw the Mumbai City FC play against Jamshedpur FC.

Jamshedpur FC defeated Mumbai City FC by 2-0 to kick-start their campaign with a commanding victory at the Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai. Jamshedpur FC had 53% possession than Mumbai’s 47%.

Jamshedpur entered the break with a one goal cushion.

Mumbai City FC won the toss and chose their side. In the first 20 minutes, both the sides played most of the ball in the midfield. The real chance of the game came for the hosts in the next minute when Paulo Machado’s shot from the corner found Lucian Goian in the middle. However, he made a good connection on the ball, but his header sailed over the bar. In the 28th minute, Jamshedpur took the lead through Arques. Arques overcooked cross-found Carlos on the left who in turn sent an inch-perfect cross at the far post to Arques who then headed the ball inside the post. In the 36th minute, Sanju played a ball to Goian inside the box, but his shot hit the side netting as he lost his balance. Mumbai was defensively good, but offense wise they were very bad. Finally, Jamshedpur headed into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Jmashedpur dominated throughout the game to defeat Mumbai

As the second half started in the 48th minute, the visitors had a brilliant chance to double their lead. Carlos sent a superb ball, which found Tiri in the middle, and he headed it towards the goal. However, Goain made a superb goal-line clearance to deny a goal for them. After 3 minutes, Sanju played an excellent through ball to Bastos. However, the keeper saved his shot easily as it lacked enough power. In the next minute, Subhasish made yet another stunning save to deny a goal for the hosts from Sougou’s header. In the 64th minute Jerry’s cross-found Carlos, but his shot was miscued at the far post. However Passi was on the receiving end directed it towards the Goal, but his shot went over the crossbar. In the 77th minute, Raynier cross-found Rafique in the medal and he headed the ball into the goal. However, the referee ruled out the goal as Rafique was found to be on an offside. In the added time, Jamshedpur doubled their lead as Sergio played Morgado through and he smashed the ball past the keeper to seal the tie. Finally, Jamshedpur won the game comfortably by 2-0.
