Match 89 of Indian Super League 4, held on Mar 4 ,saw the FC Goa play against Jamshedpur FC.

FC Goa defeated Jamshedpur FC by 3-0 at the JRD Tata Complex in Jamshedpur. A brace from Corominas and Lanzarote’s goal was enough for Goa to seal a semifinal berth that saw both the sides keeper was sent off the match after handling the ball.FC Goa had 61% possession than Jamshedpur’s 39%.

Goa head into the break with a 1 goal advantage

Jamshedpur FC won the toss and chose their side. The hosts suffered an early blow after Subrata Paul was given away marching orders after the officials found him handling the ball before Corominas got a touch on a long ball sent by Lanzarote at the edge of the box. Lanzarote stepped up to take the free-kick just outside the box, but his shot went over the post in the end. In the 17th minute, Memo had a shy at the goal from a distance, but his shot was straight to the keeper. After 4 minutes Lanzarote sent a lovely pass to Corominas who then fired a shot after getting a hold on to it, but his shot went straight to the keeper’s hands. In the 29th minute, Goa took the lead after Boumous sent a through ball to Seriton on the right who then squared the ball to Corominas in the middle. Corominas had an empty goal in front of him as the keeper was off his mark who easily tapped into the back of the net to give his team a 1-0 lead. In the 40th minute, Souvik sent a pass to Azuka on the right who beat his marker and fired a shot from outside the box, but his shot found the keeper. Finally, Goa went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Goa secures a semifinal berth with this win

As the second half started in the 51st minute Goa doubled their lead after Lanzarote’s lofted ball found Corominas in the middle who fired his shot past the keeper to score his 2nd goal of the night. In the 56th minute, Wellington tried to curl his shot inside the box from a free-kick which found Azuka at the far post, but his header went wide of the post. After 5 minutes Lanzarote sent a superb ball in the middle which found Corominas who unleashed a shot, but the keeper did well to punch the ball out of danger. A couple of minutes later A corner from the left found Ahmed in the box who fired it towards the goal with enough power, but his shot hit the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Goa scored their 3rd goal of the game after Corominas laid a ball to Lanzarote in the box who took time and fired his shot past the keeper with ease to give his team a 3-0 lead. In the 75th minute, Naveen Kumar was given the marching orders after the officials found him to have handled the ball which was meant for Belfort. Trindade took the free-kick from outside the box, but his shot went over the post. Finally, Goa sealed a place in the semifinals and finished the group stage as the 3rd best team in the league.
