Match 83 of Indian Super League 4, held on Feb 25 ,saw the Jamshedpur FC play against Bengaluru FC.

Bengaluru FC defeated Jamshedpur FC by 2-0 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar. Miku and Sunil’s goal in the first half was enough for Bengaluru to grab 3 points from the game. Bengaluru FC had 58% possession than Jamshedpur’s 42%.

Bengaluru went into the break with a 2 goal advantage

Bengaluru FC won the toss and chose their side. The first chance of the game went to Bengaluru where Dovale played Miku through on the right and he squared the ball to Sunil inside the box, but he was not able to get a touch on it. In the 13th minute, Udanta sent a superb cross to Miku who had an open header as the keeper went away from his line to collect the ball from Udanta, but his header went over the crossbar.

After 4 minutes Azuka’s shot from a free kick was tipped over the crossbar by Gurpreet for a corner. Bengaluru FC was awarded a penalty after Subrata Paul brought down Miku inside the box and Miku stepped up to take the spot-kick. He slotted the ball into the left corner by sending the keeper in the wrong way to give his team a 1-0 lead. In the 34th minute, Bengaluru doubled their lead from Dimas’s corner where he floated a good ball inside the box and Chhetri leaped over Priori to head the ball past the keeper with more power.

In the 40th minute, Azuka fired a low shot toward the goal, but Gurpreet made a fingertip save by diving to his left. A couple of minutes later Udanta passed a ball to Dovale who then fired a shot towards the far post, but Paul was in good position to make a comfortable save in the end. Finally, Bengaluru went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Bengaluru consolidated their top spot with this win

As the second half started in the 47th minute Bikey tried to poke the ball from the middle into the left corner, but Gurpreet made a save by getting low. The rebound ball fell into the path of Jerry, but his shot was superbly parried away by Gurpreet. A couple of minutes later Raju’s cross found Azuka in the middle who tried to hit a scissor’s kick, but his shot went over the crossbar. In the 52nd minute, Bose squared the ball to Miku in the middle who fired a shot from a tight angle, but his shot hit the side netting.

In the 56th minute Azuka got another chance after he received a ball inside the box and unleashed a shot, but his shot went wide off the far post. In the 68th minute, Souvik’s cross found Azuka in the middle who then headed it towards the goal with power, but Gurpreet made a save with ease. In the 89th minute Azuka took a free kick from outside the box and tried to bend the ball into the far post, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Hossain was given a red card after he received his 2nd yellow card of the game after a foul on Sunil. Bengaluru finally defeated Jamshedpur by 2-0.
