ISL-SEASON 4-MATCH-79-MUMBAI CITY FC VS NORTH EAST UNITED FC
Match 79 of Indian Super League 4, held on Feb 22 ,saw the Mumbai City FC play against North East United FC.
Mumbai City FC edged North East United FC by 3-2 at the Mumbai Football Arena. Everton and Emana scored goals for the hosts, on the other hand, Sambinha scored a goal for North East and Lucian Goian score for both sides. Mumbai City had 56% possession than North East’s 44%.
North East went into the break with a 2-1 lead
North East United FC won the toss and chose their side. In the 8th minute, Sanju Pradhan whipped in a cross to Jorda inside the box who then passed it to Everton, but his shot towards the target was well saved by Rehenesh with his legs. In the 15th minute, the hosts took the lead where Everton found Emana at the edge of the box and he fired his shot towards the bottom right of the keeper to give his team a 1-0 lead.
In the 24th minute, Northeast found an equalizer against the run of play after Sema sent a cross to Gursimrat Singh and his shot was going away from the target, but Goian tried to clear the ball and to his misfortune, he put the ball in his own net. In the 30th minute, Emana passed the ball to Everton who then fired a shot towards the target, but the keeper made a stunning save by diving to his left.
In the 41st minute, Fanai found Mosquera in the middle as he was unmarked over there and had only the keeper to beat, but his shot went wide of the post. A couple of minutes later North East took the lead as Ralte’s shot from the corner found Sambinha in the middle who was unmarked and directed his header towards the keeper’s left to give his team a 2-1 lead at the halftime.

As the second half started in the 54th minute the hosts scored an equalizer as Sehnaj lobed the ball to Jorda at the edge of the box who then headed the ball into the feet of Everton. He then got past the defender and slotted the ball into the back of the net with ease.
In the 69th minute, Robert’s cross found Fanai inside the box and his shot was on target, but Arminder made a class save by diving to his left. In the 87th minute Le Costa stepped up for a free kick with his left foot, but Rehenesh once again came to the rescue as he made a dive to clear the ball away from danger.
In the injury time, Goian scores a winner for his team after Gaikwad cross from the right found Goian in the middle who then fired his hot towards the far post and helped his team to get maximum points from the game.
