Match 58 of Indian Super League 4, held on Jan 27 ,saw the Kerala Blasters FC play against Delhi Dynamos FC.

Kerala Blasters FC came from behind and defeated Delhi Dynamos FC by 2-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. Deependra’s strike in the 2nd half canceled out Kal Uche’s strike from the penalty before halftime. Hume scored the winner for the hosts from the spot and took away maximum points from the game. Delhi Dynamos had 56% possession than Kerala’s 44%.

Delhi Dynamos FC won the toss and chose their side. Both the sides started the game in a good fashion and was looking for some good opportunities to score a goal. It was the hosts who got the first opportunity of the game in the 12th minute where Milan’s shot from a distance was saved by the keeper Arnab, but he didn’t collect the ball properly. Hume then pounced onto the rebound ball towards the back of the net, but he was flagged offside.

In the 24th minute Chhangte got the ball on his left side and tried his luck from a distance, but it was comfortably saved by the keeper as it lacked power.2 minutes later Mirabaje latched onto the ball outside the box and unleashed a shot with his left foot which took a deflection off a defender and went towards the target, but the keeper made a fingertip save in the end to deny a goal for Delhi.

In the 34th minute, Kerala conceded a penalty after Prashanth pulled Seityasen Singh inside the box. Kal Uche stepped up and slotted it home by sending Roy in the wrong way to give his team a 1-0 lead. At the stroke of the halftime, Milan fired a shot from outside the box which missed the target by inches. Finally, Delhi went into the break with a 1 goal advantage.

Super Sub Negi starred in the 2nd half and helped his team to win the game

As the second half started it took just 3 minutes for the hosts to equalize from Jackichand’s corner. He sent the ball towards the near post where Negi stuck his leg out to score a goal and it was first Hero ISL goal. In the 58th minute Negi got on to the end of Lalruatthara’s cross from the right and headed it towards the goal, but he missed the target by inches.

In the 74th minute, Negi won a penalty for his side after Chowdhary clipped and brought down him inside the box. Hume stepped up and tapped it home by sending the keeper in other way and took the lead for the first time in the game. In the 85th minute, Meitei swung a superb cross into the middle which found Baldvinsson who then unleashed a shot, but it was saved by the keeper as he didn’t connect the ball well. In the added time Chowdhary got booked for the 2nd time in the game and received his marching orders.

Finally, Kerala won the game by 2-1 and moved to the 5th spot in the table with this much-needed victory.
