ISL-SEASON 4-MATCH-54-FC GOA VS KERALA BLASTERS FC
Match 54 of Indian Super League 4, held on Jan 21, saw the FC Goa play against Kerala Blasters FC.
FC Goa defeated Kerala Blasters FC by 2-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. Corominas scored the first goal of the night which was canceled out by Vineeth in the first half. But Edu Bedia’s late goal proved to be the winner for Goa in the game and fetched maximum points from the game.FC Goa had 63% possession than Kerala’s 37%.

FC Goa won the toss and chose their side. In the 4th minute, Lanzarote almost scored a stunner from outside the box with his left foot, but it was denied by the crossbar. In the 7th minute, Goa broke the deadlock on courtesy of Mandar and Corominas. Mandar received the ball from Brandon on the left who then cut back to Corominas in the middle. The latter took a touch and found the back of the net with ease to make it 1-0 in favor of Gaurs.
In the 25th minute Hanghal latched onto a loose ball from outside the box and fired a shot, but it was denied by the crossbar in the end. Kerala scored an equalizer in the 29th minute due to the brilliance of CK.Vineeth. Vineeth got to an end of Hanghal’s free-kick and slotted it into the top right corner with his superb header to bring his team back to level terms.
In the 39th minute, Edu Bedia made a superb effort from outside the box towards the goal, but he failed to keep his shot on target. Iain stepped up to take a free-kick in the dangerous area and unleashed a shot, but his shot was well saved by the keeper. Both the teams went into the break on level terms.
Bedia’s strike helped Goa to fetch 3 points from the game
As the 2nd half started in the 52nd minute Jhingan’s diving header found Vineeth who turned superbly and made some space for him to take a shot. But his shot was easily saved by the keeper as it lacked power. In the 58th minute, Mandar got on to the end of a long ball and unleashed a shot towards the goal. He had only the keeper to beat, but his shot went wide of the target by miles.
In the 64th minute, Jackichand sent a cross from the right which found Vineeth in the middle. He attempted a bicycle kick, but his shot was not on target. Both teams were trying to score their 2nd goal but were denied by some sloppy finishes. In the 77th minute, Goa restored their lead as Brandon whipped in a pinpoint cross towards the near post which found Edu Bedia who was unmarked. He then headed it past the keeper into the far post to make it 2-1 lead for the visitors.
In the added time, Hanghal came close to score an equalizer after Sergio’s clearance fell into his feet. He then fired a shot from the edge of the box, but his shot went over the crossbar by inches. Finally, Goa won the game by 2-1 and fetched maximum points from the game and completed a double win over Kerala in this season.
