Match 41 of Indian Super League 4, held on Jan 7, saw the Chennaiyin FC play against Delhi Dynamos FC.

Delhi Dynamos FC held a draw against Chennaiyin FC by 2-2 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Jeje’s 2 goal gave Chennai lead, but David’s header and Guyon’s last minute strike gave both the sides shared equal points from the game. Delhi had 55% Possession than Chennai’s 45%.

Both teams went into break on level terms

Chennai won the toss and chose their side. In the 6th minute the hosts got the first chance of the game after they got a free-kick just outside the box. Rene Mihelic floated a cross which and it found Malison’s who headed it towards the post, but it went over the cross-bar. In the 9th minute Romeo got the ball outside the box and unleashed shot, but it went wide off the post. Chennai kept on attacking and was trying to break the deadlock. But to their dismay Delhi scored the first goal of the night from nowhere in the 24th minute on courtesy of David’s superb header. Nandhakumar played an inch-perfect ball to David in the middle and he flied in air and headed it past the keeper to give his team 1-0 lead in the game.

In the 27th minute David played a ball to Nandhakumar outside the box, he went for a shot which was saved comfortably by Karanjit as the shot lacked power. In the 37th minute Rene whipped in a cross towards Germanpreet from the corner, and he crossed it back to Rene. Rene then fired a shot towards the target, but it went wide off far post and went for a goal-kick. In the 42nd minute Chennai equalized through Birthday boy Jeje. Mihelic played a lofted ball towards Jeje from almost the half line who turned and placed his header past the keeper to equalize the score. At the stroke of half-time Rene received a ball inside the box and rolled it towards Germanpreet, but his shot was comfortably saved by the Keeper.

In the added time Nandhakumar played a superb cross to Romeo, his volley was brilliantly saved by Karanjit. The rebound ball then fell into the path of Chhangte who went for a shot, but it was blocked by Dhanachandra Singh in the end to deny a goal for the visitors. Both teams went into the break on level terms with scores tied at 1-1.

Guyon’s late strike ensured equal points

As the 2nd half started Fernandes received the ball outside the box on the right and he fired a shot from the spot, but his shot went wide off the cross-bar. In the 51st minute the hosts took the lead for the first time in the game on courtesy of Birthday boy Jeje after Germanpreet superb pass to Jeje inside the box. He then turned and fired a shot towards the top right corner and scored his 2nd goal of the night. In the 73rd minute Romeo took the corner from the right which found the head of Guyon, who then headed it to Nandhakumar towards goal. But Sekar missed the ball with his attempted back-heel.

In the 84th minute Raphael played a through ball to Jude on the right. He then crossed the ball to Nelson who was 35 yards away from the post, but his first time volley went high over the cross-bar. In the added minute Delhi got their equalizer on courtesy of Super Sub Guyon. Jeroen whipped in a cross which found the head of Uche inside the box. He headed it towards Guyon, who then slotted it past the keeper in style. Finally Delhi drew with Chennai by 2-2 and both teams shared equal points from the game.
