ATK secured their first home win and were back in the competition with back to back victories after they defeated Delhi Dynamos FC by 1-0 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. The Irish player Keane scored the only goal in the game. ATK had 53% possession than Delhi’s 47%.

Goalless half

ATK won the toss and chose their side. ATK started off the game by playing in offensive mode. In the 5th minute, Robbie Keane played superbly and looped the ball into the middle. Jayesh Rane got to its end and headed the ball towards the post, but his header was just wide off the post. In the 16th minute, Romeo Fernandes did well to cut the ball from the right and unleashed a shot, but his shot was deflected off a defender and resulted in a corner. The resulting corner almost lead to a goal as Pritam’s header was on target, but the ball went over the bar.

In the 22nd minute, Prabir Das played the ball high into the air towards the goal, but Arnab Das Sharma came up with a brilliant save to deny them a goal. Delhi Dynamos was keeping the ball for most of the time to stop ATK from scoring a goal. In the 38th minute, Jayesh tried his luck from a distance towards the goal, but his shot went straight to the keeper who collected the ball with ease. In the 40th minute, Robbie’s dummy set Zequinha after he received a through ball from Conor Thomas. He had only the keeper to beat, but his shot was wide off the post. In the added time Prabir had a good chance to send a cross to Zequinha who made a brilliant run towards the post, but his delivery went straight into the hands of the keeper. Both teams then moved into the break goalless.

ATK notched up their first home victory

In the 51st minute, Rane and Keane collaborated, where Rane sent a shot to the latter, who was near the goal post. Keane attempted a shot, which was on target, but the keeper made a comfortable save. In the 62nd minute, Romeo’s cross into the middle was not a good one, but the ball almost crept into the post. 8 minutes later, Taylor’s corner found Tom Thorpe in the middle, he then headed the ball towards the post, but it just went over the post.

In the 78th minute, the home team finally broke the deadlock through Robbie Keane’s brilliance. He took the ball from Bipin’s header and placed the ball into the bottom right corner which found the back of the net easily. In the 84th minute, Arnab spilled the ball way after Bipin latched the loose ball towards the post. The rebound ball found Bipin once again and instead of sending a cross to Keane in the middle he himself took a shot, but his shot was wide off the post. Finally, ATK secured their first home win by defeating the visitors by 1-0, on the other hand, this was Delhi’s 5th consecutive loss in this season.
