Match 14 of Indian Super League 4, held on Dec 2, saw the Delhi Dynamos FC being defeated at their home turf by the North East United FC.

North East United register their first victory in this season by 2-0, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. With this win North East United enters into top 4 in the league table. Delhi had 65% possession than North East’s 35%.

North East scores a 2-goal lead

North East United won the toss and chose their side. Both teams started to play the game in attacking mode as the half progressed. Cezario took the ball from Pritam and unleashed a shot, but the ball was off target. In the 17th minute, North East’s Marcinho became the first goal scorer for them in this season. Halicharan made a super-cross to Marcinho, who was unmarked by home defenders and with his left foot, he scored the goal. 5 minutes later, Danilo Lopes scored the 500th goal of the Hero ISL and doubled the lead for the visitors. Albino’s lapse of concentration gave them a goal after he failed to kick the back pass which he received from Pratik and Danilo slotted the ball easily into the net.

In the 24th minute, Jeroen Lumu took a shot but it wasn’t meant to be as Rehenesh came up with a fine save. In the 33rd minute Lumu took a cross from left and chanced a shot, but Rehenesh once again came up with a blinder to deny Delhi from scoring a goal. In 42nd minute, Delhi’s corner saw Kalu Uche who had superb chance to score from point-blank range, but Rehenesh came up with another smart save with his reflexes. North East went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

North East registers their first win in ISL 4

As the 2nd half started, Delhi started to play the game patiently by passing the ball around them and was waiting for a chance to break the deadlock. In the 65th minute, Delhi had a superb chance to make it 2-1 after David Ngaihte received the ball from Adilson’s loose play. Although he had only to the keeper to beat, Rehenesh’s expert keeping skills made for another save. Then both substitutes Chhangte and Ngaihte started to attack but their shot finds the visitors defender and was cleared by them with ease. North Eats then started to build pressure on hosts by reducing the pace of the game. Rehenesh and Lopes received a Yellow card at the stroke of full time after the former took a lot of time to take a goal kick and the latter brought another ball into the game to disrupt the flow of the game. Finally Northeast picked up their first win of this season comfortably after defeating home side by 2-0.
