MATCH 66 BENGAL WARRIORS VS DABANG DELHI K.C

Match 66 of Pro Kabaddi League season 5, held on Sep 7, saw the Bengal Warriors play against Dabang Delhi K.C.

Bengal and Delhi play an even first half

Meraj won the toss and chose their side on mat. Maninder Singh of Bengal and Meraj Sheykh started the proceedings, but both ended empty. Abolfazl picked up the first point of the match. Bengal fetched their first point in the 3rd minute of the match after Bhupender successfully raided. Both the teams played slowly and cautiously. At the end of 10 minutes, both teams were tied up at 5-5. But Bengal inflicted an all-out on Delhi in the 17th minute to take a 12-10 lead. The half ended with Meraj’s successful raid in do-or-die raid. Bengal went into break with 12-12.

Delhi salvages the game with a draw

The second half started with Meraj’s successful raid, who was building up the lead for Delhi. But Bengal inflicted another all-out on Delhi with the help of Maninder Singh and Vinod Kumar’s superb raiding skills to make it 21-13 lead. Anand Patil picked up a 2-point raid in the 27th minute to bring down the deficit to 7 points. Maninder brought his super 10 in the 31st minute, which was his 3rd on a row. But Anand Patil pulled of a super raid in the 32nd minute. With this, Delhi inflicted an all-out on hosts to make it 26-24 in the 34th minute. Meraj was out of the match due to injury, which was a great setback for them. Maninder came up with a 2 point raid to increase their lead over Delhi. In the last 5 minutes both the teams were grabbing points. With 1 minute left in game, Delhi was trailing by 2 points. But a costly error by Bengal’s defence gave up 1 point to Delhi. Finally, Delhi tied the things up at 31-31, after successfully tackling Maninder off the mat. Bengal finished their home leg with a draw and Delhi remains undefeated in their last 3 matches. Maninder once again starred for Bengal with 13 points. Anand Patil was Delhi’s top scorer as he grabbed 9 points.
